
Fall is a fantastic season, filled with pumpkin spice, lovely cool weather, Halloween, and fall fesivals galore! Check out some of the wonderful pumpkin patches, fall festivals, and family friendly activities available in the Denver / Boulder Area. Bring the kids and enjoy!
7th Generation Farm – Louisville, CO – Open starting on October 2nd for pumpkin season! Reservations not requried, but number of visitors will be limited to follow state guidelines. Entrance fee is $5 (children under 2 – free). Activities include big hay bale mountain, 2 straw bale mazes, hay fort and pumpkin picking. Pony rides are provided by Kodiak Ranch on Saturdays and Sundays for $6 per child.
Cottonwood Farms Pumpkin Patch – Lafayette, CO – Primarily a pumpkin patch and fall market, Cottonwood Farms offers wagon rides on Saturdays and Sundays, and also has a 4 acre corn maze and straw bale maze. Admission is only $5 and tickets are available up to one week in advance.
Fall Fesitval 2020: Anderson Farms – Erie, CO – Anderson Farms is so much more than just a pumpkin patch! While some of their standard attractions are closed due to COVID, there is still so much to do! Along with a wagonride to the pumkin patch, kids can enjoy the combine slide, tire mountain, the wooden train, the corn maze, the krazy rainbow maze, the Barnyard 500 pedal karts, barnyard animals and Fort-A-Lot-Of-Fun for a full day of Fall Festival Fun!
Maize in the City – Thornton, CO – Maize in the City offers a number of Fall Attractions including the ever-popular crazed corn field maze, the mini maze, the corn kernel box, the playground, bouncers, sand art, face painting, corn launcher, barrel train, pony rides, 5 min escape rooms, photo ops, and of course the pumpkin field. Admission ranges from free to $20, depending on the activity.
Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Patch – Longmont, CO – Weekend activities are offered on a pay per activity basis. Tickets are $1.00 each purchased at the ticket booth, and the number of tickets for each activity ranges from 1-6 tickets per person. Activities include pony rides, animal train car ride, paint a pumpkin & take it home, petting zoo, hay maze, cornstalk tunnel, and dragon rollercoaster. Food vendors include fresh made funnel cakes, hand spun cotton candy, dipped corn dogs, brats, snow cones, big hot pretzels, popcorn and more!
Rock Creek Farm Pumpkin Patch (Dates TBA) – Broomfield, CO – We are sad to report that Rock Creek Farm Pumpkin Patch will not be opening in 2020. We will miss them this year and hope to see them open next year!
Munson Farms Pumpkin Patch & Fall Harvest – Boulder, CO – Pick your pumpkin, plus enjoy hay rides and the corn maze through October 31st.
Miller Farms Annual Fall Harvest Festival – Platteville, CO – During the fall harvest, everyone takes a tractor ride to the fields with stops along the way to pick their own vegetables. You get the fun and educational experience of putting your hands in the dirt, and the rewarding benefit of picking fresh produce to take home to your family.
All of the activities and harvesting are included in the cost of admission. Begin your day by navigating your way through the corn maze. Visit ‘Antique Alley’ and enjoy your lunch in the picnic area, where they’ve got dozens of covered tables set up for your convenience. They have trash barrels and washing stations throughout, as well as several portable restrooms. Take the hayride through 180 acres of fields where you can pick your own vegetables; potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, Indian corn, squash, peppers, and the list goes on! You may even get your very own pumpkin to take with you. If you aren’t up to picking your own, they always have plenty of produce on hand in the roadside stand. They also have their chile roaster going for a wonderful treat! They do offer snacks, drinks and other delicious treats with food on the weekends!
Besides the hayride that takes you to the fields to harvest, there are tons of other activities for you and the kids. They have a giant “Croc-pit” (imagine thousands and thousands of chopped-up Crocs in a giant pile-o-fun), corn maze, kids play areas, antique tractors, peddle tractors, a hay pyramid, farm animals, and a unique collection of oddities and activities.
Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms (Sept 18-Oct 31) – Denver, CO – Check out the 7 acre corn maze and pick your pumpkin from the 10 acre pumpkin patch! Children under the age of 10 can explore the mini maze on their own. Tickets are $12 for non-member adults and $8 for non-member children, and pumpkins are priced according to size.
Boo at the Zoo – Denver, CO – Daily in October, boo at the Zoo: Storybook Safari is a safer version of this annual Denver tradition. Costumed characters, animal stories, and fairy tales come to life in an unforgettable experience for the whole family! There will be no candy handouts this year, but there is seasonally themed food and dring, and Nature Connects®, Art with LEGO® Bricks will still be up for your enjoyment! Dressing up is highly encouraged, so get the family in costume and celebrate Halloween in a way that’s safe, and socially distanced. 🙂
