Boulder / Longmont

Most people know about Pearl Street in Boulder, home to restaurants, shopping, live music, and street performers for the past 40 years! What many people don’t know is that Boulder is not your average “college town”. CU Boulder is home to over 30,000 students, and the CU Buffs Football team pulls in about 15,000 plus per game! This community nestled into the base of the Flatirons Mountains is also a sought after destination for people searching for craft beers, unique local cuisine, and a rich arts community.

Boulder is also one of the most dog-friendly cities I have ever seen. Dog parks abound, pups hang out on patios, and Boulder is one of the only places I have ever seen to offer a “voice and sight” dog tag registration, allowing dogs with special training to be off-leash with their owners. With over 35,000 acres of publicly accessible land covered in walking, hiking, and biking trails, Boulder is a great place to get active, both with and without your pup. Cyclists are everywhere, even in the winter, and Boulder is home to many elite and aspiring endurance athletes.

All these features continue to attract people to move to this infamous city, and with that comes a price tag. The average home price for a 3 bed / 2 bath single family home in Boulder is $952,000 as of November 2021. Condos and townhomes are more affordable, and many condos/townhomes in Boulder as well as some single family homes are subject to the city’s Permanently Affordable Housing program, requiring a special application process to be approved for purchase.

Longmont, Colorado, named for Longs Peak, which towers over the town, was founded nearly 150 years ago by a group of people from Chicago. Located 20-30 minutes from Boulder, Longmont also provides access to a wealth of outdoor recreation, craft beer, arts, restaurants, and more! Additionally, soon the entire city will have access to GIG speed fiber internet. While Longmont is often compared to Boulder, in the affordability category, Longmont wins, hands-down. The average home price for a 3/ bed 2 bath single family home in Longmont is $474,000.

About RENEE SOBERING

For me, real-estate was love at first duplex. My husband and I bought a duplex for our very first home, and have been buying, selling, renting, and flipping real estate ever since. When I'm not working with my amazing clients, I'm training for my next iron man or spending time with my lovely family enjoying the beautiful state of Colorado! Shout out to my two girls, Layla and Mia, my husband, and real estate partner, Darryl, and our fur-baby Kosey! Love you so much!
