Winter weather approaches! We are expected to get some snow in the Denver / Boulder area this weekend, something that my little ones are VERY excited about. With all this in mind, I set out to create a list of the best sledding hills in the Denver / Boulder Area. I thoroughly enjoy putting together “Best of…” lists for the people in this community to make lives easier, more fun, more entertaining, etc… However, in my research trying to find the best sledding hills in the Denver Boulder Area, I happened upon Slides and Sunshine , a blog by Christy Schaefer, and realized that in this case, my job was already done! Not only has she mapped out all of the best sledding hills (see map below), but she and her little ones have created an amazing interactive map of all the best playgrounds, not to mention a great list of fun indoor play areas! As a parent, I felt like I had struck gold, so rather than re-creating the wheel, I decided to feature Christy and her amazing blog, Slides and Sunshine.
The story behind Slides and Sunshine is as simple as a parent looking for ways to bring joy into their kid’s lives – something that can become increasingly difficult as a stay at home parent, especially in the summertime! After leaving her corporate job to stay at home with her three little ones, Christy needed to find a way to add in more fun without breaking the bank, so they came up with their #parktour, and started traveling around to different parks in the area. During this last year, when meeting up with friends was difficult, Christy decided this was a great way to safely meet with friends and relatives. After sharing a few of her favorite parks with friends, her hobby grew into her passion, and Slides and Sunshine was created to help parents, grandparents, nannies, and all other caregivers find great places to play with their little ones. If you are a caregiver of a little one, this is a site you should have bookmarked! Christy and her family are always discovering new places to play and she is always adding new content.
