
Fall is a fantastic season, filled with pumpkin spice, lovely cool weather, Halloween, and fall festivals galore! Check out some of the wonderful pumpkin patches, fall festivals, and family friendly activities available in the Denver Boulder Area. Bring the kids and enjoy!
Rock Creek Farm – Broomfield, CO (Opens Sept 28th) – Friday – Monday: Entrance fee is $10 per person for ages 4 and up and includes the corn maze. Pumpkins are purchased separately. Tuesday – Thursday: Farm Entrance is Free, tickets to the corn maze and pumpkins can be purchased separately. Farm animals, tractors, a family fun area, and MILES of corn mazes make this a great choice for your pumpkin picking experience this fall! Open 7 days per week 9:30 a.m. to 7p.m. through Halloween.
7th Generation Farm – Louisville, CO – (Opens Sept 27th) Entrance fee is $15 per person (children under 3 are free). Entrance includes: hayrides, fun in the corn, kid’s mazes, hay mountain, visiting with the animals, and more! Farm stand open (no entrance fee) to purchase meat, eggs, honey, and roasted chilies. Friday – Sunday: Open 9-6:30 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday: Open 12-6:30 p.m. Mondays: Closed (except October 13th – Columbus Day).
Cottonwood Farms Pumpkin Patch – Lafayette, CO (Opens September 28) – Primarily a pumpkin patch and fall market, Cottonwood Farms has an admission priced of $8.00 for ages 5-65, and offers wagon rides on Saturdays and Sundays for $5 (children under 5 and senior above 65 – free), and also has a 4 acre corn maze and straw bale maze. Admission is only $5 and prepaid admissions strongly recommended, especially on weekends. Open every day: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. through Halloween.
Fall Festival 2023: Anderson Farms – Erie, CO (Opens September 25) – Still #1 on my list of must-visits for the Fall / Halloween Season, Anderson Farms is SO much more than just a pumpkin patch! Along with a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, kids can enjoy the combine slide, tire mountain, the wooden train, the corn maze, the krazy rainbow maze, the Barnyard 500 pedal karts, sand diggers, barrel train, barnyard animals and Fort-A-Lot-Of-Fun for a full day of Fall Festival Fun! They even offer Private Campfire Rentals, which includes fire ring, wood, log benches for seating and 1 picnic table and open during Fall Festival only, and they are adding more activities and fun every year. Weekday Entry ( Mon-Thurs) is $17 for timed entry / $27 for anytime entry (date specific). Weekend Entry (Fri-Sun) is $29 for timed entry / $39 for anytime entry ( date specific). Advance ticket purchase is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Maize in the City – Thornton, CO (For days/hours of operation, click HERE) – The event features convenient, fun fall attractions including a 20-acre corn maze, voted best in Denver, mini maze and so much more. Farmer-owned, the site also offers a variety of locally grown pumpkins, gourds and other fall decor for purchase. Other attractions inclue the playground, bouncers, sand art, face painting, corn launcher, barrel train, pony rides, 5 min escape rooms, bags and giant jenga, photo ops, and of course the pumpkin field. Admission ranges from free to $20, depending on the activity.
Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch – Longmont, CO – (Opens Sept 26th) – Weekend activities are offered on a pay per activity basis. Tickets are $1.00 each purchased at the ticket booth, and the number of tickets for each activity ranges from 1-10 tickets per person. Tons of Carnival Fun with Animal Train Rides, Balloon Typhoon, Basketball Game, Dragon Roller Coaster, Duck Pond Game, Fire Truck Slide, Hay Maze, Obstacle Course Bouncer, a petting zoo, face-painting, a food truck and, of course, Pick-a-Pumpkin Pumpkin Patch!
Munson Farms Pumpkin Patch & Fall Harvest – Boulder, CO – Fall is a wonderful season at Munson Farms. Pick your own pumpkin in our patch, fill a wheelbarrow of pumpkins and heirlooms, purchase some winter squash, plus a free corn maze.
Nick’s Fall Festival – Denver, CO – Nick’s Garden Center and Farm Market in Aurora throws an annual Fall Festival for all those in Denver who don’t want to spend the day traveling out to a farm for their fall festival fan…. They have a variety of pumpkins to choose from, plus activities for every kind of kiddo. No tickets required to enter , and it’s free to enjoy the straw maze, Professor Pumpkin story time, kid’s play area, and tons of games. The fest also offer pedal karts, an inflatable obstacle course, putt-putt golf, rubber ducky races, and train rides through a haunted tunnel for an additional charge. Stop by this daily fall festival on a weekday to avoid the crowds and get your garden shopping done at the same time with help from their friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Miller Farms Annual Fall Harvest Festival – Platteville, CO (Labor Day – Mid-November) – During the fall harvest, everyone takes a tractor ride to the fields with stops along the way to pick their own vegetables. You get the fun and educational experience of putting your hands in the dirt, and the rewarding benefit of picking fresh produce to take home to your family. Begin your day by navigating your way through their corn maze. Visit ‘Antique Alley’ and enjoy your lunch in their picnic area, where they’ve got dozens of covered tables set up for your convenience. We have trash barrels and washing stations throughout, as well as several portable restrooms. You may take their hayride through 180 acres of fields where you can pick your own vegetables: potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, Indian corn, squash, peppers, and the list goes on! You may even get your very own pumpkin to take with you. They do offer snacks, drinks and other delicious treats! Besides the hayride that takes you to the fields to harvest, there are tons of other activities for you and the kids. They have a giant “Croc-pit” (imagine thousands and thousands of chopped-up Crocs in a giant pile-o-fun), corn maze, kids play areas, antique tractors, peddle tractors, a hay pyramid, and a unique collection of oddities and activities. Ages 11 & up: $28 (up to 4 bags) / Kids 5-10: $18 (up to 4 bags) / Kids 4 & under are FREE.
Boo at the Zoo (Back this year!) – Denver, CO (Opens Oct 4th – Weekends only: Fri-Sun) – Boo at the Zoo is back and better than ever! This timed, ticketed event is designed to minimize crowds and maximize fun—with candy stations, costumed characters, seasonal snacks and beastly bevvies. With something magical around every corner, it’s the best place in town to celebrate Spooky Season! Prices vary from $18.90 – $28 depending on age and which weekend you attend. Children 2 and under are FREE.
Pumpkin Festival & Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms – Littleton, CO – (October 11-13th ONLY). Check out the 7 acre corn maze and pick your pumpkin from the 10 acre pumpkin patch! Children under the age of 10 can explore the mini maze on their own. Other activities includes barrel train rides, photo booths, inflatable bouncers, slides, obstacle course, and escape rooms! Tickets ranges from $12 – $18, children 2 and under are FREE, and pumpkins are priced according to size.
